Why consider career training alongside college?
Your college major gives you an academic foundation. Short career training can add practical knowledge of a specific job: what the work involves day to day, its vocabulary, common tasks, tools and safety rules. You do not have to wait until graduation: many students take a short course to test a career before choosing a major, to prepare for an internship or a part-time job, or to show employers they understand the work.
Frequently asked questions

Where does the college information come from?
From the U.S. Department of Education’s Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS). The finder includes 3,900+ active, degree-granting colleges and universities that take part in federal student aid programs, with the programs each school reported awarding. Always confirm details on the school’s official website.
How are training recommendations chosen?
Each Career Education Institute training is about one job. The finder ranks trainings by how closely that job connects to the majors, minors, interests, careers and skills you choose, and it leaves out trainings that are not closely related.
Is Career Education Institute a college?
No. Career Education Institute is not a college, university, degree-granting institution or admissions service, and it does not apply to colleges for you. It offers general, non-credit online career training by job title.
Can career training replace a college degree?
No. CEI trainings do not replace a degree and do not grant college credit, a license or a guarantee of employment. They help you learn about a job and build practical knowledge, alongside college or on their own.
Can I change my answers?
Yes. Use the step list at the top of any step to go back, change your choices and see your results update.
